AMAZ is a brand of ethical and handcrafted Moroccan sneakers. The goal is to create elegant, colorful and comfortable sneakers, inspired from moroccan crafts.
The project is also supportive because it aims to improve access to education for girls in remote areas of The High Atlas. In Morocco, a majority of girls from rural communities unfortunately do not have the opportunity to continue their education after primary school, because colleges are often far from home.
In partnership with the NGO Education For All, for every pair of AMAZ sold, one boarding day for a girl enrolled in secondary school is funded.
Thus, our project is VEGAN, without any animal material and without any packaging made of cardboard or plastic. Sneakers are sold with a totebag
Fadela Bennani graduated from ESSEC Business School. After several years in Consulting and Business Development, she launched AMAZ Sneakers in early 2017.
The sneakers of the "Mozouna" collection are made of cotton canvas with "Sfifa" on the back of the shoe. The "Sfifa" is a trimmings made of vegetal / natural silk thread "Hrir" or "Skalli" woven. The "Sfifa“ traditionally serves to decorate the “djellabas” and the “caftans”, the traditional Moroccan dresses. These models are adorned with “Mozounas", sequins that one finds in the traditional Berber clothes.
The sneakers from the "Terz Fassi" collection are made of "Terz Fassi" fabric. The "Terz Fassi" refers to the art of traditional embroidery from the millenary city of Fès. It comes also with "Sfifa" in the back. The brand has paid tribute to this magnificent know-how. The AMAZ sneakers are handcrafted in Morocco by artisans "Maâlems" who, thanks to their know-how, made it possible to manufacture quality and comfortable sneakers.
